How to Play...

When you play Baccarat, you play against the House (also called the Banker), or a number of other players, if you choose to play on a multi-player table. There are 3 different ways in which you can bet in Baccarat;

1) On the Banker's hand
2) On your hand
3) On a tie

Getting Started - The Basics of Baccarat!

The overall aim of the game is to get a hand total as close to 9 as possible. It's not possible to go over 9 due to the way in which the game has been designed. The card values in Baccarat are as follows:

Aces = 1
2-9 = their face values
10 and picture cards = 0

Each player receives 2 cards from the Banker, and the player whose hand total is the closest to 9 is the winner. It's that simple!

If the first 2 cards you receive total 8 or 9 (also known as Naturals), you are an instant winner (except when playing in multi-player mode and another player has a hand of equal value).

A Natural 8 will always beat a Natural 9. In the case where a hand ends in a tie, any players who have bet on a tie will win. If there are no Naturals drawn, a third card is dealt.

If you bet on a winning hand, the payout is 1 to 1.

If you bet on a tie, the payout is 9 to 1.

When a total hand value is more than 10, 10 is subtracted from the total sum. For example, if your cards are the 5 of Hearts and the 8 of Diamonds:

5 + 8 = 13

As your hand total exceeds 9, we subtract 10 from the total:

13 - 10 = 3

You final hand value is 3.

The Player:

If you do not receive a Natural when you are given your first 2 cards, there are 2 options that are available to you.

1) If your card total is 6 or 7, you must stand.
2) If your card total is between 1 and 5, you must take an additional card, which will determine your final Baccarat hand.

If the Banker gets an 8 or 9, no additional cards will be dealt in that hand.

The Banker:

The Banker's move depends on the total of the first 2 cards they receive and whether the player receives an additional card.
